Gunawirra puts grant into action!

Continuing their good work educating Indigenous Australian kids about nutrition, health and culture, Gunawirra have made great use of a $1500 OHO grant with the purchase of a water tank for the Kooloora Preschool on the NSW Central Coast.
Kooloora kids fill up their watering cans from the new tank.
Made possible by the Happy Herb Shop Bunbury (WA), the slimline 2300L tank will assist the only designated Indigenous preschool in the region with its fruit and vegetable garden project - aimed at supporting healthy eating practices among the school children and their families. According to Sharon Buck, the preschool director, ‘The installation of the water tank will enable our preschool to reach one of the major objectives in our quality improvement plan in relation to sustainability. In addition, it will ensure the ongoing viability of these projects as well as enable us to educate the children about the value of water as a limited resource.” Both OHO and the Happy Herb Shop Bunbury can be safe in the knowledge that they have contributed greatly to the enhanced development of life skills for this young Indigenous community and in doing so earned their gratitude. As Sharon reiterates; ‘The staff, children and families of Kooloora Preschool would like to sincerely thank you for your efforts in obtaining funding for a water tank for our preschool.’
