Five delegates from One Health Organisation (OHO) will attend the 63rd Annual United Nations DPI/NGO Conference in Melbourne from 30 August to 1 September – the first time holistic perspectives have been represented by an Australian-based aid agency at the international conference.
As Australia’s only humanitarian aid agency specifically focused on promoting a holistic approach to primary health care and international aid, OHO will attend the conference with the aim of presenting holistic and integrative perspectives on the Millennium Development Goals and global health care issues.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for holistic healthcare to have a voice on the global stage and OHO is thrilled to be able to present this voice to the UN and other leading NGOs,” said OHO managing director Jimi Wollumbin.
With the support of its media sponsor Natural Therapy Pages, OHO will conduct a survey prior to the conference to gauge natural therapy practitioners’ views about the role holistic healthcare has to play in international aid and development.
“The survey will help our delegates present an accurate representation of holistic health viewpoints at the conference and identify specific areas where greater knowledge is desired,” Jimi said.
